Tribes Coffee dominate Tamaraws to meet Amesii in PEB decider

ree

The Har Hurum Tribes Coffee smashed the Moni Plus Tamaraws with a resounding victory of 97-73 in the Port Moresby Elite Basketball (PEB) Preliminary Final that was staged at the Sir John Stadium Indoor Complex yesterday night (August 12th, 2025).

Tribes Coffee lost to the CIVPAC Amesii in the grand final qualifier last weekend, but since they are the table-toppers, they were given one more chance, utilizing it by thumping the Tamaraws and will have a rematch with Amesii in the big dance.

Having an unsettled business against the defending champions (Amesii), the Tribes Coffee went to the court with all guns blazing and unleashed their wrath on the hapless Moni Plus-backed Tamaraws, exerting their dominance in all four quarters.

Emerging power forward Allan Millard was efficient on the court, stacking up the statistics in points scoring and rebounding, backed by Cornelius Muri, Apia Muri, Collin Pine, Eddie Moses, Solira Nondi, and Jesse Pine.

Skipper Collin Pine was impressed with the comprehensive win, crediting his teammates for executing the game plan, playing together as a team, and having fun on the court. He said Tribes Coffee had a score to settle with Amesii in the decider.

Veteran Pine also acknowledged the major sponsor of Tribes Coffee, Mr. Firman Joseph, for his unwavering support and extended the team’s gratitude to the coaching staff and management of the club, including the die-hard fans.

Amesii and Tribes met in the 2024 PEB grand final and the CIVPAC-sponsored club edged the men in green to claim the inaugural title. With no love lost between these two heavyweights, they will lock heads one more time to battle for supremacy.

Tribes Coffee is refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to face the CIVPAC Amesii in the 2025 Port Moresby Elite Basketball Grand Final this weekend (date to be announced by the executives of PEB).

Meanwhile, in the women’s preliminary final showdown, it was a neck-and-neck battle that went down to the wire, which saw the WB Transport Kutubu Lakers edge the Tribes Coffee with a thrilling 70-69 win. The Lakers will face the CIVPAC Amesii women in the decider.
