Dominic Yuanis, who hails from Minj District in Jiwaka Province, will be contesting for the National Bodybuilding Championship next month.
The tournament will be held in Port Moresby at the Sir John Guise Indoor Complex Stadium on June 23rd-24th, 2023.
Yuanis works as a security guard with the Black Swan International Security Firm and resides in NCD. He joined the security firm in 2019.
He is not new to the National Bodybuilding Championship, as he had competed in the 2017 tournament. The following year (2018), he finished second in the tournament and walked away with a Silver Medal. In 2019, he finished as a runner-up again and bagged another Silver Medal.
In this year’s tournament, Black Swan will be sponsoring him to take part in the two-day tourney. If he fares well in the tournament, he will have a chance to represent PNG in the upcoming Pacific Games and even progresses to the World Championship.
He has finished second twice in the National Bodybuilding Championship tournament, so he has the upper-hand to walk away as Mr. PNG. The guard turned bodybuilder has the experience to make his presence felt and stake his claim for the title this year.
