Gulf Komara FC produced a herculean effort in the second half to level the score with Madang United FC at 3 goals apiece in Round 9 of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) today (June 27th) at PNG Football Stadium in Port Moresby.
It was a game of two halves, with Madang dominating the first half and Komara regrouping in the second half to impose their presence, capping off the match in the nation’s capital to a thrilling finish.
The visiting Madang side caught the hosts flat-footed in the opening 45 minutes, with midfielder Stanley Hariec netting the first goal before Linus Ginarem picked up the brace to lead 3-0 at the break.
Surprised by the visitors’ onslaught, the defending champions (Komara) strategized in the sheds and rallied a second-half comeback, scoring 3 goals through Harold Tateng, Kenneth Arah, and Renagi Ila to equalize the match with a grandstand finish.
Komara sit 4th on the ladder with 16 points, while Madang are in the 8th spot with 10 points. Komara will face Kula FC, and Madang will meet Lae City FC in Round 10 on Wednesday, 1 July 2026.
