Western Highlands Kickboxing Association lauds Provincial Government for Financial Assistance during PNG’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations

ree

The Western Highlands Kickboxing Association (WHKBA) thanked the Western Highlands Provincial Government under Governor Hon. Wai Rapa’s leadership for allocating K3,000 to celebrate PNG’s 50th Independence Anniversary last week in Mt Hagen.

Western Highlands Independence Committee representative Mr. Jeffery Kop, alongside a representative from the Governor's office, officially handed over the cash to the executives of WHKBA - President Linstan Andy, Treasurer Melissa Mel, Technical Officer Alfred Waleya, and the students of Hagen Secondary School.

This marks a significant milestone for the newly established association that has received such a substantial financial gesture for the first time from the Governor's office and the Independence Committee.

Western Highlands Kickboxing Association President Linstan Andy expressed the association’s appreciation and gratitude to the Western Highlands Provincial Government for its timely assistance.

“On behalf of the entire association and our students, we extend our deepest appreciation to Honorable Governor Wai Rapa, the Independence Committee, and Mt Hagen City Authority for their support,” he said.

“We are overwhelmed and incredibly grateful for this recognition of our association's existence and our commitment to the sport of kickboxing.

“With this support, we will be more committed than ever to elevating the Western Highlands Kickboxing Association.

“We are confident that with continued hard work and community backing, we will rise to become the premier kickboxing association in Papua New Guinea, setting a new standard for excellence.”

The association also officially welcomed its new technical officer Alfred Waleya, who joined the executive team last week. His extensive knowledge of kickboxing administration in PNG will be a great asset to the association.
