Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) Under 19 Men’s squad departed from Port Moresby Yesterday for the upcoming Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) U19 Men’s Championships in Apia, Samoa, from July 4-10, 2024.
The tournament will feature eight island countries, competing across two groups. Group A has Fiji, Tahiti, Solomon Islands and qualifying winner Vanuatu, while Group B features New Zealand, New Caledonia, Samoa and Papua New Guinea.
In the first PNG’s opening match, PNG will go against Samoa on Saturday, 6th of June. Their second match will feature New Caledonia on Tuesday, June 9th, for a spot in the finals.
The winner and runner-up of the tournament will represent OFC at the FIFA Men’s U-20 World Cup in Chile in 2025.
