Despite bouncing back into the winner’s circle with a clinical 9-0 victory over the struggling American Samoa on Tuesday, February 13th, PNG fell short of securing a spot in the playoffs.

The reigning Champions of the Pacific (PNG) failed to live up to the expectations, ending up in a draw against the Solomon Islands in the opener (1-1) and going down to Fiji in the second game (4-3).

Solomon Islands defeated the red-hot Fiji with a 3-1 win to finish second on the ladder in their pool, while PNG finished in third placing.

Top two teams will be selected in each pool to compete in the playoffs, which will be held on Friday, February 16th and final is on Saturday, February 17th, 2024.
