PNG triumphed over Fiji with a 2-1 win in the 2025 OFC Women’s Nations Cup Semi-final clash today (July 16) at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, Fiji.
Coincidentally, PNG beat Fiji with the same scoreline at the same venue to claim their maiden championship in the 2022 OFC Women’s Nations Cup Grand Final.
With everything to play for, both sides lifted their tempo and went firing on all cylinders in the first half, with PNG netting 2 goals and Fiji scoring a goal.
Even though goal-scoring opportunities were created in the second half, no team managed to find the back of the net, leaving the first half score unchanged, with PNG securing their spot in the big dance and Fiji bowing out.
Keren Kalapai and Ramona Padio’s goals helped the reigning champions march to the decider as they anticipate defending their title.
PNG will face the winner of Samoa and Solomon Islands in the 2025 OFC Women’s Nations Cup Grand Final on Saturday, July 19th, at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, Fiji.
