PEB Clash of the Titans

The Port Moresby Elite Basketball (PEB) competition will host its final game of the regular season this evening, October 30th, 2024, with the Minor Premiership trophy up for grabs, when the undefeated Hurum Tribes Coffee go head-to-head with the CIVPAC Amesii in the top-of-the-table clash at the Sir John Guise Stadium Indoor Complex.


Both Tribes Coffee men's and women's teams will face the Amesii sides, which shapes up to be the much-anticipated game of the season. The winners for both divisions will claim the Minor Premiership title. In the men's division, the Tribes Coffee top the ladder and Amesii sit second, while in the women's pool, Amesii top the standings followed by Tribes Coffee.


Tribes have the services of PNG representatives, Cornelius Muri and Eddie Moses, backed by veteran campaigner and skipper, Collin Pine and rising star, Allan Millard, while Amesii boast a stacked team comprising of current PNG point guards, Anderson Hewe and Augustine Kaupa, supported by the ever-reliable Moses Lune and another promising baller, Harold Elavo. The sides have lethal weapons, who are capable of attacking the rim on both ends of the floor.


In the women's division, Tribes Coffee will be led by the PNG representative and captain Jonitha Warabe, backed by Elina Yala, Anna Moses, Margaret Kevin, Cynthia Baia, and Emily Lialu, while Amesii will bank on the experience of PNG representatives Betty Angula, Betty Wong, Marca Muri, Lydia Gotuno, and young Tina Dobunaba. Both sides possess big-time players who have so many tricks up their sleeves.


With no love lost between the Tribes coffee and CIVPAC Amesii, this fixture promises to showcase a thrilling and physical basketball blockbuster that will surely keep the fans on the edge of their seats. Both Amesii teams have a score to settle with the Tribes Coffee, when they were defeated in the opening round of the season. This match up should be a cracker.
