𝗞erema Basketball League Set for 2026 Season Launch

The Kerema Basketball League (KBL) is gearing up to launch its 2026 season on Sunday, 8th March, at Kerema Town Basketball Court, Gulf Province. 

Outgoing KBL President Sepu Samson and his executive team revived the competition last year after a few years of non-existent, finishing the 2025 season successfully. 

Acting Kerema Basketball League President Bernadette Furigi confirmed the launching date, explaining the competition’s vision of unleashing raw talent in Kerema town and wider Gulf Province. 

“The Kerema Basketball League (KBL) is proud to officially announce the launch of the 2026 season on Sunday, 8 March 2026, at Kerema Town Basketball Court,” she said. 

“This important event marks the official commencement of the new season and reaffirms our commitment to youth development, community engagement, and structured basketball competition within Kerema District and Gulf Province.”

The acting president expressed her appreciation to the sponsors, whose support ensured that the competition ran smoothly last season and will continue in season 2026.

“We proudly acknowledge and thank our sponsors and supporters, including Kerema District Development Authority, Gulf Provincial Administration, Gulf Province Sports Trust, and MRDC,” she said. 

“Your partnership and support continue to drive grassroots sports development in Kerema District and Gulf Province.”

The KBL executives warmly welcome all guests, players, sponsors, spectators, and the entire basketball community to attend and witness the official launch of the Kerema Basketball League 2026 season.

“Let us come together to celebrate sport, unity, and positive youth engagement as we officially tip off season 2026,” Mrs. Furigi said.
