The OTS Tribes claimed their fourth consecutive Corporate Touch Port Moresby (CTPM) title after edging the FH Parapella with a 7-5 scoreline in the Open Men’s Grand Final on Sunday, 26th October 2025, at Murray Barracks Oval.
This victory has cemented the OTS Tribes Touch Football Club dynasty, creating a remarkable history and making it a powerhouse club in the Corporate Touch Port Moresby competition, spanning over 15 years.
The Tribes men had a roller-coaster season, but under the strong leadership of experienced players like Eugene Eka, Bobby Vavona and Freddy Gelam, the team weathered the storm and reached the finish line, walking away with the coveted trophy.
PNG representative and player-coach, Eugene Eka, was overwhelmed with the result, attributing the premiership success to the club’s strong culture, team spirit, good sponsorship backing, and work ethic.
“It's a special feeling to win the competition for four years in a row. The hard work and sacrifices involved have paid off," Eka said.
“The team was led by Bobby Vavona and Freddy Gelam, who are also representative players. I have given them the responsibility while providing guidance and mentoring the team. It feels so good to be leading from a different capacity.
“It was a bumpy season for us, with players having personal issues like myself and not turning up for games, but a few players and officials held the tribe together until we finished the season on a high.”
Mr. Eka acknowledged the sponsors of the club, including the players’ families and the loyal fans, for their support not just this season but over the years, whose backing has boosted the team to perform and produce results for the club.
“A big thank you to our sponsors, On Track Solutions and TRS7, for the sponsorship over the years, plus this year as well. Without their sponsorship, we wouldn't have a team,” Eka expressed.
“I would also like to thank the players' families for their support as well, plus our supporters and people who don't support us. Thank you all.”
The veteran campaigner said they would celebrate their premiership achievement and shift their focus to next season, anticipating a five-peat.
Founded in 2010, the OTS Tribes Touch Football Club has been competing in the grand final since its inception to date. The men's and mixed teams, in particular, have been the most dominant over the last 15 years.
This year has been special for the club, with both men's and mixed teams pulling off a four-peat over their arch-rivals, FH Parapella. The juniors also made the grand final but lost. All four divisions reached the big dance this year, capping off their 2025 CTPM season on a high note.
