The National Capital District Football Association (NCDFA) officially launched its 2025 proper season today (June 30) at the PNG Football Association conference room.
After three weeks of running the preseason games at the Sir John Guise Stadium Multi-Purpose Oval, NCDFA concluded its preseason finals on a high note last month.
This season will feature ten clubs participating in various divisions ranging from U15, U17, U19, and A-Grade for both men and women, with over 80 teams to compete until November.
NCDFA President Vonnie Kapi Natto said a proper venue to host the games had been an issue for NCDFA over the years, but they always run their competition successfully.
“Today, we are here to announce our season proper that will kick off this weekend here at the Sir John Guise Stadium Multi-Purpose Oval,” Mrs. Natto explained.
“It took us quite some time to kick off our season because we did not have a venue. We were just waiting for a venue to be available to start our season.
“Hopefully in the future, we should have a proper venue. I’m still hoping that one day PNGFA can give us a venue to host our games.
“Even though we have those challenges, NCDFA never gave up. We always have our competition running and complete everything smoothly.”
President Natto also announced that the NCDFA would finalize its executive team to run coaching courses, as well as refereeing courses, to equip their officials to administer the competition professionally.
Mrs. Natto expected another tough season as the participating clubs set their sights on fighting for the top honors in their respective divisions.
The ten participating clubs for the 2025 NCDFA season are:
Hekari United FC
POM Souths FC
Matala FC
Tarangau FC
Niuluk FC
South Side FC
Valley Strikers FC
Moukele FC
Mukara FC
Tokarara FC
