The Lae City FC struck the Port Moresby Strikers FC with a 4-1 win in round 15 of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) midweek match today (8th October) at PNG Football Stadium in Port Moresby.
The Strikers opened the scoring through Eaka Philimon, but let their guards down in the following set plays as Lae City responded with 2 goals from Sileon Hatagao and Jonathan Allen, taking a 2-1 lead at half-time.
Despite being down with one player who received a red card in the second half, Lae City were in full control of the game with their pacey attack and well-coordinated plays, registering 2 more goals to strike out the Strikers.
With one player down, the Strikers had an advantage to steal the win from the visitors, but the Bob Morris-coached men defended their lead, shutting down the home side with a much-needed win as they look to solidify their spot on the ladder.
