The battle of the two junior arch-rivals saw the Supreme Industries Harlequins defeat the Kramer APAC Brothers with a 17-10 victory to claim the U20 Division Cup of the NiuPower KMHL Sports Tok Rugby 7s tournament on Sunday, April 20th, 2025, at Bava Park in Port Moresby.
Not only did the Supreme Industries-sponsored Harlequins young guns walk away with the Cup, but also received K5,000 for the first time in the U20 division to cap off their campaign in style.
The Harlequins opened the scoreboard quickly and got onto a flying start in the opening minutes, but the Brothers responded with back-to-back tries to take a slight 10-5 lead at half-time.
Not to be outdone, the jesters of Bava Park (Harlequins) regrouped and made a herculean comeback in the second half, registering two tries to steal the win from the valiant boys in black.
The Harlequins and the Brothers are two of the premiership heavyweight clubs in the Capital Rugby Union (CRU) competition, who have been arch nemesis in the last decade, dominating the fastest-growing second-tier 15-aside competition in the country.
Both clubs have churned out highly-touted talents over the years straight from their junior divisions to the premier grades, where most of the players have gone on to don the PNG Pukpuks’ jumper and represent their country with pride and honor.
While the Harlequins shift their focus to the Capital Rugby Union (CRU) competition to continue their winning momentum and aim to claim the U20 division title this year, the Brothers also have the same goal in mind to fight for the bragging rights.
