The CivPac Amesii men’s and women’s teams have registered two convincing victories over Triple B and Kondo East in Round 1, game 4 (men’s) and game 2 (women’s) of the Port Moresby Elite Basketball (PEB) on Sunday, 14 June 2026, at Sir John Guise Stadium Indoor Complex.
Kondo East started the opening quarter on the front foot, leading 10-6. However, Amesii regrouped in the second quarter, overtaking Kondo East to a 31-21 lead at halftime. Amesii maintained their lead in the third quarter (45-32) and outclassed the Kondo East girls in the last quarter with a convincing 65-32 scoreline.
CivPac Amesii’s Betina Dobunaba dominated the statistics, notching up 14 points, making 5 assists, and collecting 3 rebounds. Betina has been a consistent performer for the Amesii women, playing a key role in the team’s success.
For Kondo East, Anna Moses has continued her dominance, scoring 14 points, making 3 assists, and exploding for 22 rebounds. Anna bagged the highest rebound in the game. She is a force to be reckoned with in the women’s division.
In the men’s clash, Triple B commenced strongly in the first quarter, leading 20-19. However, Amesii rebounded in the second quarter, taking a 2-point lead (38-36). Using their experience, Amesii ran away in the third quarter (66-53) and sealed the deal with a commanding 90-75 victory.
Reliable finisher Moses Lune stuffed the statistics sheets for Amesii, scoring 27 points, making 5 assists, and amassing 12 rebounds. Being the engine room of the Amesii side, Lune is a consistent performer. Enoch Raka followed closely, adding 23 points, 2 assists, and 11 rebounds.
Conversely, Triple B’s rising star Hunter Bobola Jr scored 28 points, which was the highest in the match. He also topped the rebounding tally, recording 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Skipper Sibona Kala picked up 24 points, made 4 assists, and collected 9 rebounds.
Despite the disappointing result, the young Triple B side led by veteran Sibona Kala competed tenaciously and tested Amesii’s resolve. The inexperienced Triple B boys have raw talents who can compete and give other experienced teams a run for their money.
The back-to-back (2024-2025) PEB champions, the Amesii men’s team, are setting their sights on pulling off a three-peat, while last year’s runners-up, the Amesii women’s team, are aiming for another grand final appearance to redeem themselves.
