Papua New Guinea’s National Sprinter Leonie Beu has set a new Personal best record in the 100m, clocking 11.68 Second in Nashville, Tennessee, USA on Saturday, advancing a point above other athletes to be considered for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Beu has been in outstanding form recently. She also clocked in 23.63 seconds in the 200m on Saturday.
She also ran a time of 54.25 seconds in 400m twice and clocked in 24.18 seconds in her first 200m earlier last month.
Beu became the second fastest Papua New Guinean female 200m sprinter of all time after clocking a superb 23.61 seconds in the heats at the Conference United States Championships in Denton, Texas in 2023.
Her new records set as a strong candidate for the 2024 Olympics for the 100m sprint.
