The Agmark FC Morobe Wawens delivered a 2-0 win over the Southern Youth FC to snatch the National Youth Soccer League (NYSL) U18 Men’s competition on Sunday, 14th December 2025, at PNG Football Stadium, Port Moresby.
Both teams rose to the challenge and showcased an entertaining and physical 45 minutes of contest. Neither side was able to open up the game, though a couple of goal-scoring opportunities were created, leaving the half-time score at nil all.
The visiting Wawens found their mojo in the second half and scored two goals to shatter the Port Moresby-based team (Southern Youth FC). The home side tried to make a comeback, but the Morobean lads defended their goalmouth courageously until the final whistle.
Moreover, the Agmark FC Morobe Wawens lost to the PRK Gulf Komara FC in the OTML Premier Soccer League (PSL) Grand Final. Despite the unfortunate result, the Agmark-sponsored U18 team and FC Morobe Wawens have done exceptionally well this season.
Established in 2017, the Wawens ended their eight-year finals drought and reached the decider for the first time, but fell short to the resilient Komara team. The loss may be a blessing in disguise for the club as they aim to redeem themselves next season, whilst the U18 boys hope to defend their title.
