The Digicel-ExxonMobil Cup (DEM Cup) reigning premiers, Lae Snax Tigers, received a timely sponsorship boost from Niugini Oil Services Limited, valued at K100,000.
Niugini Oil’s sponsorship is a big morale boost for the team, with the players vowing to work hard to repay the company’s trust by winning consecutive titles.
A small presentation was held on Wednesday (18 March) at Lae Rugby League Oval, witnessed by the Tigers’ players, the coaching staff, and team management.
Niugini Oil General Manager Allan Young presented the cheque to the Lae Snax Tigers, pumping and fueling the defending champions’ energy to roar again this season.
The club released a statement and expressed appreciation to Niugini Oil: “We are grateful for partners like Niugini Oil that keep the pride alive.”
The Lae-based franchise played a few pre-season trials recently to finalize the squad ahead of the DEM Cup season opener in April.
Top 30 players will be assembled and finalized as the Noel Zeming-coached men aim to go back-to-back in their 2026 DEM Cup campaign.
The Tigers joined the DEM Cup in 2011, then known as the Digicel Cup. They have since become a dominant team in the semi-professional competition, winning six premierships.
