The Lae Biscuit Company hosted a Meet and Greet event for the National Rugby League’s (NRL) number one try-scorer of all-time, Alex Johnston, and his South Sydney Rabbitohs teammates Sean Keppie and Peter Mamouzelos at Rangeview Plaza in Port Moresby today (May 26th).
Johnston, who is the Brand Ambassador for Lae Biscuit Company, arrived in the nation’s capital with his teammates yesterday (May 25th) as part of a community visit sponsored by one of the oldest and largest food manufacturers in Papua New Guinea.
The South Sydney flyer and his teammates visited a couple of schools in the morning, encouraging the students to balance school work and footy, running small rugby league clinics, and signing autographs. They later met the fans for a "Meet and Greet" event at Rangeview Plaza in the afternoon.
The trio interacted with the fans, taking photos with the players and getting their signatures on the Lae Biscuit-produced T-shirts, which has Johnton’s record-breaking NRL try-scoring photo. The players also signed the fans’ jerseys and ended the afternoon on a high note.
Johnston was overwhelmed with the reception: “First and foremost, I thank the Lae Biscuit Company for the opportunity to come back to PNG. It’s my first time visiting the country again after breaking the NRL record as the greatest try-scorer of all time. I love coming here (PNG). My family is very proud of me. I appreciate all your support.”
Sean Keppie and Peter Mamouzelos were grateful for the hospitality and warm welcome, thanking the Lae Biscuit Company for making the trip possible and the fans for their passionate support.
Lae Biscuit Company Managing Director John Chow thanked Johnston, Keppie, and Mamouzelos for their presence and acknowledged the work they are doing to impact the lives of kids through school visits and interactions with fans. He also thanked everyone for their support in buying Lae Biscuit Company’s products.
Meanwhile, the proud food manufacturing company has introduced a new “Lewa Brand” that coincided with the event. Lae Biscuit Company continues to produce high-quality products and invest significantly in Papua New Guinea’s sporting landscape, with rugby league being its major investment.
