Remington Group has backed Papua New Guinea women’s national football team, the Bilums, with a timely sponsorship boost ahead of their FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 OFC Qualifiers finals in New Zealand, slated for 12-15 April.
In a small presentation held at PNG Football Stadium on Tuesday, 31 March 2026, the Remington Group presented a K10,000 cheque and 100 cartons of Paradise water to support the team during training and competition.
Remington Group has previously supported the PNG women’s national football team in the 2023 Pacific Games hosted in the Solomon Islands, with the company continuing its sponsorship for the Bilums this year.
While presenting the cheque, Remington Group General Manager (Operations), Bryan Wareing, said the ICT specialized company is happy to support the Bilums in the women’s OFC qualifiers’ finals in New Zealand.
“On behalf of the Remington Group, it’s my pleasure to make this very important presentation by supporting the PNG Bilums with K10,000, plus 100 cartons of Paradise water,” Mr. Wareing stated.
“As you know, sports is a big industry in PNG, so it’s an opportunity for Remington Group to support the young women who have qualified to play in the finals, which can be life-changing for them.
“For us to contribute in a small way is very important and also very important to the team, as we all know that a lot of sports in PNG can’t operate without corporate sponsorship, so we are happy to do that.”
Remington Group CEO Justin Kieseker added: “At Remington Group, we’ve always believed our role goes beyond business. Supporting our people and communities we operate in is part of who we are.
“We are proud to stand behind the PNG women’s football team once again. They represent the kind of determination and pride that inspire the country.
“If we can play a small role in supporting their journey and encouraging more Papua New Guineans to get involved in sports, then that’s something we are proud of.”
Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) General Secretary Ahmjad Tekwie acknowledged Remington Group’s backing.
“On behalf of President John Kapi Natto, the executive committee, and the PNGFA administration, I would like to thank the Remington Group for their timely sponsorship,” Tekwie said.
“Remington has been supporting PNGFA since 2023, especially the women’s team, and they are here again to support us, so we are very grateful and happy to have them on board.“
The PNG Bilums are ramping up their preparations and fine-tuning their combinations as they look forward to meeting American Samoa in the semifinals. The Bilums will leave the country next Wednesday (8 April).
