Port Moresby is buzzing with excitement as the nation’s capital looks forward to hosting Round 2 of the inaugural Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Professional League at Santos National Football Stadium on Saturday, January 31st, 2026.
The second round of the historic competition will take place from January 31st to February 8th in PNG’s metropolitan city, bringing 7 clubs from across the Pacific and Oceania region.
The seven teams will converge in the National Capital District this weekend (January 31st to February 1st), joining the host team, PNG Hekari FC, to continue round 2 of the OFC Pro League five-circuit series.
The OFC Pro League kicked off its opening round on January 17th in Auckland, New Zealand, where each team played 3 matches and concluded the first circuit over the weekend.
A total of 12 matches will be played at PNG’s top-tier stadium, offering local fans the opportunity to witness high-quality and competitive elite football on home soil.
Hekari, who are sitting at the bottom of the pole position, are desperate to bounce back into the winner’s circle when they take on the undefeated table toppers, Auckland FC.
The matches are expected to attract strong interest from the local fans as the MRDC-backed team looks to capitalize on home-ground advantage to register its first win of the season.
Moreover, the ticket prices are sold at an affordable price of K15, making the tournament accessible to football fans and families.
The tickets can be purchased online through Ticket Mastas or in person at selected outlets, such as Waterfront, Eliseo 9 Mile, Brian Bell at Gordons Plaza, Boroko, Eliseo Rainbow, and J-Mart Erima.
Football fans have been urged to turn out in numbers to rally behind PNG Hekari FC and celebrate the growth of the professional league in PNG and the greater Oceania region.
Meanwhile, Auckland FC arrived yesterday (January 27th), while some teams will travel to Port Moresby today, and others tomorrow.
