PNG Futsal League expands to Lae

The Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) has announced the expansion of the PNG Futsal League to Lae, with the Futsal Super League 2026 for both Men and Women set to kick off in April.

Following the successful introduction of the national futsal competition last season, which crowned its inaugural champions and generated strong interest from clubs and players across the country, PNGFA is building on that momentum by extending the league footprint beyond Port Moresby to include Lae, creating more opportunities for participation and talent development nationwide.

The expansion marks another important step in PNGFA’s commitment to strengthening futsal as a key pathway within the football ecosystem and delivering more structured, high-level competitions for athletes.

PNGFA is now inviting interested franchise clubs to formally register their participation.

Clubs wishing to compete must complete and submit the Expression of Interest (EOI) Form, together with proof of payment of the required fees:

• Player Registration Fee: K100 per player

• Full Affiliation & Player Registration payment deadline: Tuesday, 31 March 2026

• Competition kick-off: April 2026

Matches for the 2026 season will be hosted in Port Moresby and Lae, providing increased exposure and competitive opportunities for both regions.
