NCD Kickboxing Association starts preparation for PNG Games

The National Capital District Kickboxing Boxing Association is ramping up its preparations to participate in the PNG Unity Games, slated for November 2026 in Port Moresby. 

Team NCD finished first in the recently concluded "Last Man Standing" Quarterfinals on Sunday, June 28th, 2026, at Taurama Aquatic and Indoor Center in Port Moresby.

Riding on this success, the NCD Kickboxing Association is gearing up to host several Inter-Club Challenge fights to select the top fighters to represent the capital city in the upcoming event.

NCD Kickboxing Association President Thomas Kagili gave a brief update on the association’s preparations to host mini-bouts leading up to the PNG Games.

“It is the first initiative we have come up with in NCD to host the inter-club challenge fights to select the top fighters for the PNG Unity Games,” Kagili said.

“We will host several fights every two weeks to build the fighters’ stamina, skills, and fighting techniques.” 

Mr. Kagili thanked the PNG Kickboxing Federation President Stanley “The Headhunter” Nandex and NCD's Sports Desk for their support in staging the inter-club challenge fights.

President Kagili clarified that elite or professional fighters will not take part in the PNG Games, creating opportunities for beginners to shine in the ring and represent NCD.

The event will start tomorrow (June 11th) at Koki’s South Side Fitness Center in the Moresby South Electorate.
