The SP PNG Hunters 2025 rookie prop, Zebedy Kip, has been entrusted with a big responsibility by the coaching staff to lead the roving, mobile forward pack this season.
Kip made his debut for the Hunters last season, recording 17 games under his belt and looking to be more involved in the middle-third.
The rampaging prop forward aspires to lead with intent alongside fellow front-rowers and back-rowers, featuring Himson Ulalom, Seal Kalo, Manisa Kai, Murray Fige Connors, and Ila Alu.
Kip stated that he is grateful to coach Paul Aiton for believing in him, and he wants to repay the trust by performing to expectations and delivering results.
“The coach trusted us and gave us the jersey, so with that trust in us shown by the coaching staff and team management, I feel honored to push myself - I’m ready to go,” he said.
“I play in the middle, so I need to run hard and do strong tackles. As middle forwards, we will try to be impactful and make the job of the halves and backline easier.”
He added that he is fortunate to get selected for the second season: “The first season was a bit new to me, but I’ve learned a lot and want to be competitive in my second season.”
The Western Highlander puts his hand up to set the platform upfront with other forwards and lead the pack by example on and off the field in the 2026 Hostplus season.
