Adrian Lam, Leigh Centurion head coach has declared that “Edwin Ipape is not going anywhere". Lam confirms his commitment to holding back his team’s hooker and star amidst NRL interest.

It was reported earlier this month that the St George Illawara team of the National Rugby League was interested in recruiting Ipape. NRL interest arose as Dragons incoming coach Shane Flanagan wants a reunion after being part of the PNG Kumuls backroom staff during 2022 World Cup in England.

However, Lam had declared that he would keep Ipape in the Super League. According to him, Ipape is one of the finest players of the league and will stay with the Leigh until his contract ends.

Edwin is currently one of the most talented number nines in the Super League competition. He was tipped as the favorite to win the 2023 man of steel award ahead of the season’s kick off by the bookers. Despite being in his second season at Leigh Sports Village, he greatly contributed to rebranding the Leopards and making them successful during his debut last year.

Lam reaffirms that Ipape will complete his contract with Leigh Village Sport as he had already signed an extension deal that ends in 2025.
