The Hekari Football Academy produced a masterclass performance, drubbing the Buria FC with an outstanding 9-0 victory in the U18 Women’s National Youth Soccer League (NYSL) Semifinal clash today (10th December 2025) at PNG Football Stadium, Port Moresby.
It was a one-sided affair from the get-go until the full-time siren as Hekari ran riot and brought Buria to submission, scoring 4 unanswered goals in the first half and registering 5 additional goals in the second half to blow the struggling Buria side off the pitch.
Hekari executed well-coordinated plays and gelled together as a team, whereas Buria’s attack looked clunky and disjointed, coupled with a porous defence, creating opportunities for Hekari to exploit their opponent’s weakness and made them pay the price.
The Red Army girls secured their spot in the grand final while awaiting the winner of Bernice FC and South Side FC, with the match underway. The U18 Women’s NYSL Grand Final is set for Sunday, 10th December, at PNG Football Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Women’s National Conference Soccer League (WNCSL) double-header Semifinal fixtures will kick off at 4:00 PM this afternoon. Defending champions, the Hekari Women’s FC, will face the Madwest FC at PNG Football Stadium, while the Lae City Dwellers will meet the Souths FC at PNGFA Academy in 11 Mile, Lae, Morobe.
