Genesis hold off Mungkas

FC Genesis pulled off a gutsy 2-1 win over Mungkas FC in round 1 of week 9 of the Port Moresby Soccer Association (PMSA) Premier Men’s Division clash on Saturday, 9 May 2026, at Bisini Sports Ground. 

Genesis and Mungkas fielded a few Premier Soccer League players, making the match exciting and intense. A strong first half saw the two sides draw to a 1-1, setting the tone for a bruising second half.

At the resumption, the match reached its peak with both teams throwing everything at each other. In the 70th minute, the ladder-leading FC Genesis scored a match-winner to maintain the top spot. 

Meanwhile, as the first round nears its completion and looks forward to welcoming the second round, all teams competing in the Under 19 Division, Premier Men’s, and Premier Women’s are playing out of their skin every weekend.
