Hekari United FC Academy men’s teams have dominated all the divisions during the National Capital District Football Association (NCDFA) finals on Saturday, November 30th, 2024, at PNG Football Stadium in Port Moresby.
The men’s teams went with all guns blazing and took the competition by storm, making a whitewash in every division ranging from the U15, U17, U19, U23, and A-League, including the women’s A-League.
Continuing their dominance from last season, the ‘Red Army’ flexed their muscles and stamped their authority this season, sweeping the NCDFA competition across all categories, especially in the men’s divisions.
The senior men’s team competing in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) competition also bagged back-to-back titles on two consecutive seasons (2023-2024), extending their championship pedigree in the semi-professional competition.
Hekari's U19, U23, and A-League men's coach, Wira Wama credited and congratulated the players for their consistency and hard work, urging them to maintain the same spirit next season.
“I would say their commitment to training has paid off. These players stuck together from day one, so they knew the way their teammates played, which made it easier in their combination to play as a team,” Wama said.
NCDFA President and Hekari United FC Team Manageress, Vonnie Kapi Natto expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the competition and looks forward to a bigger and better season in 2025.
She also acknowledged the hard work put in by her executive team led by NCDFA Coordinator, John Forova. Mrs. Natto further thanked the sponsors, participating teams, and fans for their ongoing support in pulling off a successful season.
