The Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) is proud to announce that Gulf Komara FC has become the first club to complete full payment of its registration and affiliation fees, officially confirming its participation in the 2026 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.
The early commitment comes from none other than the reigning Premier Soccer League champions, with Gulf Komara having lifted the 2025 PSL title in dominant fashion. The club further cemented its status as one of the country’s leading football institutions by also being crowned the inaugural champions of the PNGFA Futsal League in 2025, showcasing excellence across both formats of the game.
Their prompt registration not only secures their title defence but also sets the benchmark for professionalism and preparedness as clubs gear up for the new season.
PNGFA officials welcomed the move, noting that early compliance assisted the association in confirming logistics, travel arrangements, and operational planning to ensure the competition is delivered at the highest possible standard.
Under the 2026 regulations, all participating clubs are required to submit a K20,000 non-refundable Expression of Interest (EoI) together with the full competition payment of K150,000, which covers the affiliation fee and player registrations.
Key 2026 PSL details the Premier Soccer League will feature:
• Up to 10 teams
• Home-and-away league format
• Fly-in, fly-out competition model
• Matches to be hosted in Port Moresby and Lae
• Maximum 30 players per team
Important dates:
• Registration & Expression of Interest deadline: 28 February 2026
