Four young Papua New Guinean tennis stars Colita Hakena, John Louie Domalaon, Pauline Hyun and Sugar Ray Hakena are qualified to compete in the Pacific Oceania Junior Championships in Fiji in June following their successful game at the 2023 West Pacific Regional Championships in Port Vila, Vanuatu earlier this month.

The young stars are qualified to compete after their outstanding performance at the regional championships.

Colita Hakena was crowned Girls 14 champion after beating her Vanuatu opponent. She won the Girls 14 Doubles alongside Nepheline Leah Akinu. Sugar-Ray Hakena and Pauline Hyun were the runners up for Boys U16 and U16 girls respectively. While John Louie Domalaon settled for third place in Boys U14.

Among them, 14 players competed, all from the Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL) PNG Junior Tennis team.
