ExxonMobil PNG extends sponsorship with PNGRFL & PNGNRLC

The PNG LNG operator, ExxonMobil PNG, has announced its partnership renewal with the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) and Papua New Guinea National Rugby League Competition (PNGNRLC).  

The announcement of ExxonMobil’s continued support was made last month in Sydney during the PNG CORE Investment Week Forum, where sponsorship agreements were signed with the PNGRFL and PNGNRLC.

ExxonMobil PNG released a statement today, saying: “ExxonMobil PNG, operator of the PNG LNG Project, is pleased to continue its support for PNG rugby league in 2026 as naming-rights sponsor of the PNG LNG Kumuls and co-naming rights sponsor of the Digicel ExxonMobil Cup. 

“The PNG LNG Project has supported the PNG LNG Kumuls since 2013, contributing K30 million to date, while ExxonMobil PNG has co-sponsored the Digicel-ExxonMobil Cup since 2023, supporting player development pathways and the continued professionalization of the sport.”

ExxonMobil PNG Chairman and Managing Director, Dinesh Sivasamboo, said: “Nothing unites this diverse nation like rugby league, and it has been an honor to play a small part in fostering the sport’s growth and development in PNG.”
