The Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) PNG has come on board to support the SP PNG Hunters with beverages this season.
The announcement was made last Friday (February 27th) during the PNG Hunters 2026 season launch at Port Moresby Nature Park.
Coca-Cola PNG is now a platinum partner of the PNG Hunters, strengthening a partnership that aligns with national goals for youth development, community cohesion, and healthy, active lifestyles.
PNG Hunters Chief Executive Officer, Scott Barker, welcomed Coca-Cola, noting that their involvement reflects the growing confidence of reputable global companies in PNG’s sporting and community development pathways.
“Rugby league continues to grow rapidly in PNG, and having a major global brand like Coca-Cola partner with the PNG Hunters is a very positive sign for the code,” Barker said.
“Their support reinforces the value of sport as a unifying force and a platform for positive social impact across the country.”
Barker highlighted that the PNG Hunters is the country’s top domestic-based team, a national asset that brings communities together and provides opportunities for young Papua New Guineans to aspire, participate, and succeed.
Country Manager for CCEP PNG, Tim Solly, said the company’s involvement reflects its long-standing commitment to supporting communities and contributing to national development priorities.
“On behalf of CCEP PNG, we are proud to join the PNG Hunters as it continues to build this second-tier competition—one that unites the nation whenever the PNG Hunters take the field,” Solly said.
He emphasised that Coca-Cola’s involvement extends beyond brand presence: “Our partnership with the PNG Hunters complements our broader community programs across PNG.
“Rugby league is a powerful vehicle for social connection, and we are committed to supporting environments where young people can thrive.”
Solly added that CCEP PNG’s support aligns with shared goals held by the government and development partners:
Strengthening youth pathways through sport;
Create safe, inclusive community spaces; and
Supporting local economic activities around major sporting events.
“Whether fans are tuning in from remote communities, gathering in towns and villages, or cheering from the National Football Stadium, we are proud to help refresh and connect Papua New Guineans through the game they love,” Solly said.
