The Kramer APAC Brothers have remained undefeated after edging out the determined Theodist MBB Marlins with a gritty 16-12 victory in Round 7 of the Pepsi Capital Rugby Union (CRU) Premier Men’s fixture on Saturday, 13 June 2026, at Bava Park.
Reeling from last year’s loss to the Valley Hunters in the grand final, the Brothers grinded in the pre-season, recruiting a few players from rival clubs, including rugby league players, and building a formidable roster in 2026.
In a highly anticipated clash, the men in black wasted no time and scored the first try in the opening minutes of the match, but the Marlins responded with a 5-pointer, trailing the competition leaders 7-5 at halftime.
The match hit overdrive in the second half, with both sides executing their set pieces to open up the game. The Theodist-sponsored MBB Marlins managed to register a solo try, while the Brothers converted 3 penalty goals to ice the game.
Under immense pressure to contain the confident Marlins outfit, the kicking prowess of the legendary fly-half Jonah Kautu kept the Gerehu-based club at bay and helped the Brothers secure six straight wins.
Coach Rawali Bokuik’s men made many missed opportunities, but they will learn from it and grow, hoping to inspire other teams to believe that they don't need superstars; they need a bunch of kids who are willing to play their hearts out.
The hard-fought victory over the Theodist MBB Marlins saw the Kramer APAC-backed Brothers remain undefeated and retain the top spot in the Pepsi Capital Rugby Union Premier Men’s Grade after Round 7.
