The Kroton Hela Wigmen have bounced back in the winner’s circle after shrugging off the resilient PRK Gulf Isou in round 4 of the Digicel-ExxonMobil Cup on Saturday, 2 May 2026, at Santos National Football Stadium, Port Moresby.
NPL Enga Mioks upset the red-hot Wigmen in round 3. Disappointed with that result, the Kroton-sponsored club regrouped and punished the PRK-backed Gulf Isou with a gritty 20-12 victory over the weekend.
The Wigmen and Isou lost to Mioks and Lahanis, respectively, in the last round. Desperate to rebound from those losses, the Andrew Andiki-coached Wigmen and the David Westley-mentored Isou delivered a strong performance.
In a tight, low-scoring clash, the Wigmen scored 2 tries while Isou bagged 1 try, trailing the Hela men with 6 deficit points (10-4) at half-time. The Wigmen continued their momentum in the second half, securing 2 additional tries and closing out the game with a 20-12 margin.
Wigmen have won 3 games and tasted 1 defeat, sitting 4th on the ladder with 6 points. The Kroton-backed side will host the Asila Waghi Tumbe in round 5 of the DEM Cup on Sunday, 10 May 2026, at Santos National Football Stadium.
Meanwhile, in the battle of Central and East New Britain earlier on at Santos National Football Stadium, the Gas Resources Central Dabaris outclassed the Agmark ENB Gurias in a high-scoring affair, pulling off a 38-20 win.
