Warriors on a mission to re-enter the competition

The CBL Simbu Warriors - formerly known as the TNA Lions are on a mission to rebuild their pillars with the intention of bidding for a re-entry into the 2024 Digicel-ExxonMobil Cup season.

Warriors are now preparing to host and launch a Jersey auction during a corporate fundraising

dinner that will be held at the Mt. Wilhelm Lodge in Kundiawa on August 25th, 2024. This will

feature a meet-and-greet of the club’s legends, as well as a musical performance by Tom Lari.

Furthermore, Warriors have initially kicked off their plan by repairing and upgrading the Warriors’

home field, Dicksons Oval at Kundiawa in Simbu Province. This was led by the Warriors Board Chairman, Michael Robert, who has used his construction company, the Moronil Builders Limited

and funds from his own pocket to upgrade the run-down facility.

The incumbent Governor for Simbu Province and former Kumul, Hon. Noah Kool has also pledged to help. The reconstruction of the field is underway and will be completed by the end of the year.

Warriors attempts to re-enter the competition since 2018 have been unsuccessful, mainly due to the run-down facility at Dickson’s Oval.

The board members of the Simbu Warriors and the people of Simbu hope that the upgrading of the oval will help them meet the requirements to gain re-entry into the semi-professional competition.
