The Har Hurum Tribes Coffee exploded for an 84-57 victory over the Bulls in Round 1, Game 7, of the Port Moresby Elite Basketball (PEB) men’s clash on Wednesday night, 1 July 2026, at Sir John Guise Stadium Indoor Complex.
Following a disappointing loss to the Southern Sailors in game 6 on Sunday, June 28th, the Tribes Coffee rebounded and punished the Bulls, bouncing back in the winner’s circle to secure the top 4 spot in the eight-team competition.
Both teams showcased competitiveness in the first and second quarters. However, Tribes Coffee found their rhythm in the third quarter and controlled the final quarter, blowing the Bulls off the court.
Forward Allan Millard scored 35 points, followed by Cornelius Muri’s 13 points, Jesse Pine’s 9 points, Himson Kaia’s 8 points, Max Warabe’s 5 points, Jnr Joseph Toank’s 4 points, Emmanuel Parapa’s and Ronald Konge’s 3 points each, and Solira Nondi’s 2 points.
Player-coach Collin Pine was not pleased in the first and second quarters, but credited the players for swinging the momentum in the third and fourth quarters to ice the game with a dominant 27-point victory.
Skipper Pine thanked the club owner and major sponsor, Firman Joseph, for his continued support of the club and hopes that both the men's and women's teams will continue to deliver consistent results in the coming rounds.
In the second match, the defending champions, CivPac Amesii, edged out the determined 3K North-West Wizards with a 75-69 scoreline. The game tipped off with high intensity and ended on a high note.
The men’s double-header tomorrow (July 3rd) between the Southern Sailors and ACL Kings, followed by Triple B versus Moni Plus Tamaraws, will wrap up PEB’s Round 1 games. The men’s teams will go for a short break.
Meanwhile, the women’s division is into its third game of Round 1. The five women’s teams will play two more games before joining the men’s division for a short respite. Round 2 will resume after the completion of the women’s competition.
