The 2025 Port Moresby Women’s Softball Association (POMWSA) blockbusting Grand Final saw the reigning champions, Tribes Bears, edge the United Sisters with a 3-1 margin to retain their title on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at Bisini Softball Diamonds.
It wasn’t a walk-in-the-park win for the Bears, as the Sisters threw everything they had on the eventual champions and pushed the decider to a nail-biting finish.
After drawing at 1-point apiece for some time, the Tribes-sponsored Bears found their groove and hit two crucial home runs in the seventh inning to put the game beyond doubt.
Juliet Seri and Francisca Kinit had a field day at the diamonds, showcasing their potent pitching and catching prowess, backed by seasoned softballers Carol Apelis and Rosie Apelis to defend their crown.
Despite the result, the United Sisters gave the queens of Bisini Softball Diamonds (Tribes Bears) a run for their money, capping off their 2025 POMWSA campaign on a bittersweet note.
Meanwhile, in the B-Grade grand finale showdown, the Moni Plus Gazelle claimed the trophy following their gutsy triumph over the determined Chebu outfit, who gave everything but fell short.
