The Southern Strikers FC have thrashed the Central Amoana FC with a commanding 7-0 victory in the Women’s Conference Soccer League at PNG Football Stadium this afternoon (July 9 th , 2023).
It was a one-way traffic contest in the first half, as Strikers scored 3 unanswered goals and took a
comfortable lead against the Central girls in the first 45 minutes of the clash.
Strikers maintained their momentum in the second half and scored 4 more goals to blow Amoana off the park.
Strikers have registered their second straight win, while Amoana have tasted their second biggest loss.
The assistant coach of Strikers, Silvana Gelesi, who was standing in for the head coach, Margret
Daka, was very happy about his team’s dominant performance.
“We kept a clean sheet, which was good. They did not score, so I am very about the result. The girls did very well.
“Our main focus for this game was our defensive mindset so we had to keep defence in shape, which we managed to do. Because of our strong defence, they did not score,” assistant coach Silvana Gelesi stated.
The Southern Strikers FC will take on Helais FC next weekend.
