Strikers made a late comeback to stun Allies

The round 3 clash of the Women’s Conference Soccer League (WCSL) between Port Moresby Strikers and Allies FC saw Strikers coming from behind to edge out Allies 3-1 at PNG Football Stadium this afternoon (July 15th, 2023).

Both sides have put on a solid performance in the first half. Allies were the first team to score. Strikers tried to counter-attack and equalize the score, but time was not on their side. Allies led the contest with a scoreline of 1-0 at half time.

Strikers did not shy away, as they went into the sheds and regrouped, talked things over, and went back to the pitch with a rejuvenated energy and scored 3 unanswered goals to stun Allies 3-1.

Allies were taken off-guard in the second half. Strikers used their experience and switched on the mojo, and made a late comeback to seal the deal with a strong 3-1 performance.
