The SP hunters have bagged a back- to – back win on their home ground for the second time this season by winning the Western Clydesdales in round thirteen of the QRL Hostplus Cup on Saturday, 10th of June, 2022 at the Santos National Football Stadium.
The Hunters had defeated the Clydesdales easily with a 40- 4 finishing scoreline in the eye of 892 spectators, one the biggest home crowd for this season.
The first half kicked off with ease as Tommy Moide crashed over the side of the posts to score the opening try. Hunters scored two more tries before leaving the field with a 16 -0 score on the board for the halftime break.
Hunters came back swinging in the second half as Philemon Kimisive pushes through the defense to score a try after three minutes of entering the field. Three minute later Saki Wapo scores an electric try by speeding and sidestepping defense singlehandedly before touch down in the center of the post.
The game saw great individual defense tactic from Solo Wane, Brandon Nima, debutant Joshua Lau and Rodrick Tai while the attacking contributions were put in by Philemon Kimisive, Casey Dicksons and Sanny Wabo. Joshua Lau had celebrated his debut by bagging a try.
The match was concluded nicely for the hunters as their center, Rodrick Tai touched down a try on the 57th minute.
The Hunters will host the Souths- Logan Magpies at the Santos National Football Stadium on Saturday, 17th June.
