PNGVF announced Women’s Beach Volleyball Train-on Squad

The Papua New Guinea Volleyball Federation (PNGVF) has announced the National Women’s Beach Volleyball Train-on Squad for the upcoming Pacific Games. PNGVF selects both Men's and Women's Volleyball Teams.

PNGVF has selected four (4) women's beach volleyball players through the National Capital District Volleyball Association (NCDVA). The players were selected from the various established, affiliated and sanctioned clubs participating in the NCDVA competition. The four selected players from their respective clubs are as follows:

1. Michelle Shirley Walo – Central Club Scorpion Association (NCDVA)

2. Alice Ito – Gulf Club Telikom Association (NCDVA)

3. Mera Kila – Central Club Telikom Association (NCDVA)

4. Linda Jane Aufe - Central Jugu Association (NCDVA)

The four selected players have been training for almost three months at the Sir John Guise Stadium beach volleyball facility. The training and preparations so far have been successful.

The head coach of PNG Women’s Beach Volleyball, Nuga Dick said he is happy to see the girls putting in the hard work and pushing themselves to the limit. This is to stay fit and healthy.

“We have trained very, very hard for the last few months. I know other teams will give us a challenging challenge, so we train four days a week to prepare ourselves.”

The four players will train until October. They still have a lot of work to do in terms of fitness, skills development and mental capacity. This is to prepare themselves for the Pacific Games. These Games will be held from November 19th to December 2nd in Solomon Islands later this year.
