PNG Sports Foundation signed MoU with National Cultural Commission



The Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation (PNGSF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Cultural Commission (NCC) yesterday to create a pathway for the two organizations to work in collaboration to address sporting activities and cultural heritage in the country.


The MoU signed between the two organizations represents and symbolizes a significant commitment to preserving and promoting both the cultural heritage and sporting abilities of the athletes.


Both sports and culture play an important role in shaping the identity of PNG athletes, as well as portraying the rich culture and tradition of the country.


Present at the occasion to sign the historic MoU between the two organizations were the CEO of PNGSF, Albert Veratau, and Executive Director of NCC, Steven Kilanda, staff of the two organizations, including media personnel.


In his opening remarks, the Executive Director of NCC, Steven Kilanda said he is happy to see the MoU finally being signed between the PNGSF and NCC.


“This moment symbolizes the harmonious alignment of our nation’s cultural and sporting identities, charting a course towards unity, progress, and development,” Executive Director Kilanda remarked.


PNGSF CEO, Albert Veratau shared similar sentiments and emphasized the significance of the MoU signing between the two organizations.


“I am really happy and excited to sign this MoU with my colleague and NCC. I think this is a great step in the right direction,” CEO Veratau said.
