PNG Siales to compete in Darwin Juniors Strike League

PNG Siales, the U19 Cricket Team PNG, are gearing up to compete in the Junior Strike League next week in Darwin, Australia.

The Siales will compete against Australian teams of about six from the New South Wales Junior Team and the Darwin U19 Team.

“It’s like five or six teams in the competition. Actually, it’s only a New South Wales Junior Team and also the Darwin U19 team with the U15 boys as well,” said PNG Siales Head Coach Mahuru Dai.

Head Coach Dai said they were preparing and looking forward to the game. According to him, as Siales are a team of young girls, no matter what happens, they are prepared and ready to compete.

“We are all looking forward to that. It's not winning and losing; it’s just learning with the girls as we proceed. They are all young girls, and I'm sure they are looking forward to the tournament,” he said.

Even though the girls are adjusting to the updated Cricket PNG standard, they are looking forward to the upcoming game in Australia.

Meanwhile, the PNG Garamuts are now in their round 5 of the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup EAP Qualifiers at TIO Stadium in Darwin.
