PNG Open tees off


The Papua New Guinea Open has teed off on the 4 th of May, 2023, at the Royal Port Moresby Golf

Club (RPGC). It will be a four-day event.

Professional and champion golfers from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and of course, top golfers in PNG are competing for the Australasian Tour.

Thirty-six (36) top Papua New Guinean golfers and five former/past Reigning Champions of PNG

Open are also participating in the tourney.

After a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic disruption, the tournament has resumed in 2023.

The day two of PNG Open sees Christopher Woods leading on ten-under. There are few favorites

contending in the tier two tournament, so the result might change in the coming days.

The General Manager of Royal Port Moresby Golf Club, Josh Dickson, said: “After COVID-19, we have our first major golf event here. We hope to grow over the next couple of years. For the 50 th

Anniversary in 2025, we hope to get more international players.”

Champion of the 2023 PNG Open (Australasian Tour) will be crowned on Sunday afternoon

(May 7th ,2023).
