Olam to make his debut for the Tigers

Updated: Apr 29

PNG International and former Melbourne Storm’s left-edge center, Justin Olam, has been named by coach Benji Marshall to make his first appearance for the Wests Tigers, when the Concord franchise take on the Saint George Illawarra Dragons in their second trial game on Saturday, February 24th at Mudgee in Sydney.

Olam, who nursed a leg injury, worked on his rehabilitation in the off-season and was rested in weekend’s trial game. Coach Marshall didn’t want to risk Olam in the first trial game and rested him. Olam is now ready to hit the paddock.

Marshall has named a strong side to play the Dragons. Olam and a couple of Tigers’ new recruits, as well as the players from the NSW Cup, will run out for the first time with the back-to-back cellar-dwellers.

The Simbu lad will partner Starford To’a in the centers. Olam is stoked and ready to make his mark with the ‘Kings of the jungle’, helping the struggling club to turn the tide around this season.
