The National Capital District Football Association (NCDFA) held its second weekend of the pre-season competition on Saturday, March 16th, 2024, at Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby.

NCDFA has two more weekends remaining before it concludes its pre-season competition and resumes the 2024 season proper.

A total of 36 teams are taking part in the pre-season competition. Men’s division has 24 teams, which are divided into six pools and the women’s division has 12 teams, which are categorised into two pools.

Besides the existing clubs who took part in the 2023 season, a couple of new clubs have shown interest to participate in the 2024 NCDFA competition.

NCDFA Coordinator, John Forova, said President Vonnie Kapi Natto and the executives had anticipated to improve the standard of the competition in 2024 season by including plenty of teams to participate.

“My President (Vonnie Kapi Natto) has mentioned that there’s going to be a new competition this year,” coordinator Forova said.

“Mrs. Natto is away with her team (Hekari United FC) to take part in the OFC Women’s Champions League so when she comes back, she will announce what we intend to do this season.”
