The Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) will stage the 2023 National Women’s Championship at the Santos National Football Stadium in Port Moresby for two weeks (August 23rd to September 6th ).
The four regional teams that will participate in the two weeks tournament are Highlands, Southern, Northern, and New Guinea Islands.
The first day of the tournament kicks off today. The double-header for this afternoon will see Southern taking on Northern at 1:30 pm and Highlands meeting New Guinea Islands at 3:30 pm.
The best players will be selected for the National Squad to take part in the upcoming Pacific Championship, which will be hosted from October to November this year.
With the national election on their minds, all the players from the four participating teams will definitely rise to the occasion and try to make their presence felt.
PNG women’s rugby league skills will be on full display in this two-week tourney. Best wishes to the four teams, as they vie for the championship.
