MRDC Delivers Sports Uniforms to Kerema Rugby League & Basketball Competition

The Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC) delivered different sets of sports uniforms to the Kerema Rugby League and Basketball competition.

A small ceremony was held yesterday, 29 January 2026, on the basketball court in Kerema Town for the presentation of sports uniforms.

This included 10 sets of rugby league jerseys, each presented to Kerema Rugby League for men and women, while 8 sets of uniforms were presented to Kerema Basketball.

Present to donate the uniforms was General Manager for Security, Safety, and Protocol, Michael Koupere, representing MRDC's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Augustine Mano.

Mr. Koupere said this was an initiative to support and get the community involved in sports in Kerema town.

“Sports is a unifying activity that fosters discipline, leadership, and opportunity for our young people in the community,” he said.

“We encourage the community to get involved in sports and other constructive activities as a way to avoid social issues that affect the community.”

He also encouraged the executives, players, and officials to take responsibility and ownership of the donation.

MRDC not only invests in business but also supports infrastructure development across the country, including sports.
