League Bilong Laif PM’s XIII School Clinic was a success

The League Bilong Laif (LBL) held its 2023 Prime Minister’s XIII School Clinic at the Santos National Football Stadium Field 2 on September 22nd to teach the fundamental skills of rugby league to children in primary schools and also to commemorate its 10th anniversary as a development program.

Team Up PNG, through the Australian Defence Force, in partnership with the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League, has proudly sponsored the League Bilong Laif Prime Minister’s XIII School Clinic.

The League Bilong Laif Prime Minister’s XIII School Clinic is basically organized to teach and mentor the fundamentals of rugby league skills like passing, kicking, and tackling, to primary school students, whose ages range from as below as 3 to 15.

Present at the occasion to witness the event were the Australian Defence Force, Australian Kangaroos Prime Minister’s XIII team, Junior PM’s XIII, and Australian Jillaroos, to name a few.

The PM’s XIII School Clinic also coincided with the League Bilong Laif’s 10th Anniversary. While the students were taught basic rugby league skills, LBL as an organization celebrated its 10th year anniversary.

The League Bilong Laif NRL Program Coordinator in PNG, Martin Ingirin said he was delighted to see the students interacting and engaging with the players to learn about rugby league while commemorating LBL’s 10th anniversary.

“The purpose of this School Clinic is to celebrate the 10th anniversary of League Bilong Laif.

We started this program in 2013.

“This program also provides an opportunity for the students to see their favorite NRL stars and enjoy the fun games with them, as well as bonding and interacting with the players,” Ingirin stated.

The students, players, organizers, and fans had a great day playing fun games, creating friendships, taking photos with the players, and getting their autographs. It was a fun-filled and memorable day, and the students who participated would never forget that experience.
