KMHL has given a sponsorship package of K360, 000 to PNG Kickboxing Federation through President, Stanley Nandex and his executives, specifically for the team’s traveling airfares.

A total of 30 fighters will attend the event, with the contingent consisting 26 men and 4 women. The 30 determined fighters will represent PNG and compete in their respective weight divisions on foreign soil.

According to Nandex, the overall cost for the 30 fighters, including the officials and other associated expenses, would amount to approximately K600, 000 or more.

“It’s good news for us (PNGKBF). Kumul Minerals Holdings Limited has jumped in to rescue us, in terms of its timely sponsorship,” Nandex said.

“It’s a challenging and tough economic time, but we would like to thank KMHL for their support. We are very delighted and thankful to have them on board.

“The sponsorship is K360, 000, which is for the tickets of the fighters. The 30 fighters, as well as the officials, will all be included in this sponsorship package.”

Mr. Nandex also thanked other sponsors and the families of the fighters for their unwavering support in ensuring that the athletes travel to Spain to attend the world event.

Speaking on behalf of the KMHL, Media and Public Relations Manager, Sylvia Avitu mentioned that the custodian of the investments and mining assets company was happy to support PNGKBF.

“On behalf of KMHL, it’s a pleasure to support the PNG Kickboxing Federation to attend the World Championship in Spain. As part of the assistance, we are proud to support the fighters. We are also proud to know that there are female participants in this tour,” Avitu said.

In addition, PNG Kickboxing Federation Secretary and the national coach also extended their word of thank you and appreciation to KMHL for their financial assistance.

The PNG Kickboxing Federation has been preparing and training these elite fighters in the last two years. Their hard work, commitment and dedication has paid off with this timely sponsorship.

Meanwhile, the PNG Kickboxing Federation will hold a 'Corporate Dinner' on November 6th to raise some additional funds to meet their traveling expenses, in terms of accommodation, food, and so on.
