As the clock ticks down to November with about 100 days to go, Team PNG is in full swing with training preparations underway. The Mens team of Volleyball PNG is also keeping themselves fit in their fitness trainings and up-to-date with other exercises in preparation for the Pacific Games.
“Away from the court, a fitness program is part of their training to see how much effort they can put into fitness conditioning,” said PNG Men’s Volleyball Association Team Manager, Ronald Omoa.
According to PNG Men’s VA Team Manager Ronald Omoa, the team is committed to their trainings. It is also looking forward to other lead-up tournaments to the big event in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
Team preparations included final selection trials last week with about 25 members in the train-on squads. As a result, they are now focusing on up-skilling the members, but there will also be two more final selections later in the selection process to select the final team for PNG.
“From 25, we should cut the members down to the final 18 to train until October and then a final 14 will be selected to represent Papua New Guinea in the Pacific Games,” said Omoa.
